Field Care of Your Trophies

The quality of your mount starts with you.  To assist the hunter in protecting the quality of his/her trophy, please adhere to the following:

*  Head and neck shots should be avoided when possible

*  Get the animal frozen as soon as possible to prevent spoilage and hair loss

*  Do not hang an animal head down to bleed out

*  Do not place warm animals or skins in plastic bags (rapid bacteria growth will cause loss of hair or feathers.

*  Birds should be frozen whole in plastic bags with sufficient protection for long tail feathers-do not bend feathers

*  Small mammals within the USA may be frozen whole in plastic bags.  Please call prior to shipping next day air so we can expect your shipment

*  All large mammals should be professionally prepared for shipment or delivery

*  If you are not sure or decided how you want your trophy mounted - have your trophies skinned for life-size mounts

*  Birds should be hunted with the smallest shot practical

*  If you cape out big game cut behind the front legs

*  Double bag fish and freeze as soon as possible
